September Shows


As the sun sets on a summer of concerts and festivals, you may be looking to get your fix of live music locally. Look no further! The following is a list of local, national and international acts arriving in the Boston area for shows this September. Whether you like alternative, pop-punk, electronic or R&B, these talented groups and individuals are making splashes in the music world.

September 3rd
Elvis Depressedly and Teen Suicide @ Once Ballroom
Both bands boast a indie-rock and lo-fi sound that is sure to fill this intimate somerville venue. Elvis Depressedly and Teen Suicide conclude their summer tour with this show, so it is certainly not one to miss. Listen

September 6th
Gallant and Eryn Allen Kane @ The Sinclair
Gallant, who started recording music when he was just in middle school, returns to Massachusetts with a sold out show at The Sinclair. This tour is in support of his R&B album Ology, which was released this past April. Listen

September 15th
NAO @ Brighton Music Hall
This British singer-songwriter is bringing her unique brand of R&B to Boston. Her self-described “wonky funk” has garnered much attention already. She was recently featured on Rolling Stone’s “10 New Artists You Need to Know”, and needless to say, you need to know her. Listen

September 18th
Young The Giant, Ra Ra Riot @ The House of Blues
Young The Giant embark on their massive North American tour behind their new record Home of The Strange. With their third studio album, this group could be considered veterans in comparison to the newcomers on this list, but they play with the youth and vibrancy of a band just starting out. Listen

September 23rd
Tourist @ The Middle East (Downstairs)
Tourist first broke into the scene with a self-titled EP in 2012. Since then, he has earned a Grammy for co-writing Sam Smith’s “Stay With Me,” and after two more EPs he finally released his debut album this year. If his amazing discography is any indication, this show is not one to be missed. Listen

September 26th
Roosevelt @ Great Scott
The German musician premiered his debut album just this August. He tours America this fall, bringing his danceable pop tunes to many cities. His show at this Allston venue is perfect if you're looking for a fun night out. Listen

September 29th
Tacocat @ Great Scott
Great Scott has many awesome shows lined up for the month of September, and this list would not be complete without mentioning Tacocat. The pop-punk quartet from Seattle return to Boston with their triumphant and rebellious sound. Listen

September 30th
Vundabar, Lady Pills, Bat House @ Brighton Music Hall
All three Boston indie bands unite for a show at Allston’s Brighton Music Hall. What better way to end your September than by seeing and experiencing the best of Boston all in one room? Listen
